HFC Beneficial

I have been paying on two loans for over 4 years. I still owe more than was initially taken out. Every time I talk to them it's a struggle to get anywhere. I asked this morning for a payoff amount and it's still $500 above what I took the loan out for in 2007. At $260 per month for 4 years...this is exactly why this company should be shut down...If anyone is looking for somewhere to get a loan...please make sure they do not go to HFC. They would be better off purchasing lottery tickets or picking up pennies along side the road.

They let me fall behind without even nortifiling me.

They sent me a statement saying my min. payment was such amount. So for 7 months I paid that amount. Then they sent me a paper saying was behind 3000.00. When I called them, they said it was only for 1 month. Why didn't they call me sooner or send me something in the mail. Now I have to send them 100.00 a month extra. When I send in the payment they ask me when am I going to send in the full amount, like I got 2500.00 hanging around. I am paying 9.9% interest and payments are 1500.00 a month. It seams like now one at this company wants to help any one out.

Beneficial HFC - Run around

The area that I live in (South MS) was devestated by Hurricane Katrina. Receiving over 8 foot of water to my home in 2005. After 2 and half years I received a grant check from the state to assist with repairs etc....Keep in mind I did have insurance (Home and Flood) but all payouts were applied to the loan with beneficial, leaving me with nothing to repair my home with. Thus having me to apply for a grant through the state. Having a mortage with Beneficial, the grant check of course had to be endorsed by the company, so I mailed it as soon as it was received, by the direction given to me from Beneficial. Now, 1 month later beneficial will not return the grant check. I have spoken with literally over 30 reps from the company and all I get is shuffled to different departments with the same response, 2 - 3 business days. My only option left to take is to hire an attorney and let the chips fall where they fall. Choosing beneficial was undoubtly the worst business decision that I have ever made and if I had to do it over again, I would rather use some Vegas backdoor ganster as my linder. I would rather deal with a broke leg than to have to spend one more minute on the phone with these rip off, lying, cheating, non-ethical *** artists.

This is no surprise. HSBC has engaged in unscrupulous lending activities since at least 1999 and the massive lawsuit against them by the Attorneys General across the country with regard to their mortgage loan activities in 2002 did not stop it.

Anyone thinking of getting a mortgage, refi-, consumer loan or credit card through them needs to be aware and warned!

Advice to the writer of this complaint -get a reputable lawyer. You will not beat them on your own and even with an attorney you may have an uphill battle.
